This is one of my fave movies of all time as it is for so many women. If you love Audrey Hepburn, you love this movie and the costumes. There's alot to be learned on how to dress from a woman who doesn't have alot of money to blow on a huge wardrobe for a big room closet.
In an era of Tiny House & Space living, it's time for women to relearn the art of small wardrobe and big style. Here are some great tips to take away from Holly Golightly style choices.
- Accessorize.
- Wear Hats day or night.
- Utilize a simple color palette.
- Choose pieces that you can mix and match.
- Choose a small assortment of investment pieces.
- Attitude is everything.
Holly chose a more simple color palette of blacks, tan/taupes, creams and a burnt orange as her main wardrobe staples. The burnt orange coat was a more neutral color that fit in with her looks. She only had three pairs of shoes until the pink outfit: kitten heel black croc, kitten heel cream and black flats. The little black dress with the feathers at the bottom was worn in many scenes which she would change up the jewelry, hats, hair accessories to create a different look. The long formal black dress was utilized alot too which would be spot on for any formal occasion because of it's flattering fit not to loose and not tight. There's alot to be learned from dressing in this movie. Audrey Hepburn along with Givenchy created a modern character and the looks are simple but have true chic.
Don't fret ladies if you're like me and you don't have a huge budget to look stylish, because the good news is if you choose pieces wisely and learn how to mix and accessories you too can be Stylish Darling!
